InterContinental Cairo Citystars welcomes Khaled Zaki as its New Hotel Manager


Dieter Franke, General Manager InterContinental Cairo Citystars and Area General Manager IHG Egypt has announced the appointment of Khaled Zaki as the new Hotel Manager for InterContinental Cairo Citystars.

With a career that spans over 20 years in the hospitality sector at some of the world’s leading hotel groups, more than half of which has been with InterContinental Hotels Group, Khaled brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Previously, Area General Manager at Crowne Plaza Dubai, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, and Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi Downtown, Zaki first joined InterContinental Abu Dhabi in 2001 in the front office department before rising up the ranks within InterContinental Hotels Group. He has collective experiences in city hotels and resorts, and in his new role, Khaled will be in charge of day to day operation of InterContinental Cairo Citystars along with guest experience as well as InterContinental brand standards implementation.

On Khaled’s new assignment, Dieter Franke commented “Khaled brings valuable hospitality and hotel management knowledge from his previous and different assignments with prestigious international hotel chains. Speaking of Khaled’s vast experience with InterContinental Hotels Group, he joined IHG in 2001 as an Assistant Manager in InterContinental Abu Dhabi, then he was promoted in 2006 to the position of Assistant Front Office Manager. In 2007 Khaled moved to Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi where he held various critical operational and managerial posts, starting as a Front Office Manager, then he was promoted to be EAM in charge of rooms in 2010, and in 2012. Having demonstrated leadership and efficient management in all aspects of the hotel’s operations he was later on promoted to Resident Manager. In 2017, Khaled moved to Millennium Hotel Fujairah as General Manager and in 2018 he returned to IHG as Cluster General Manager for three hotels in Abu Dhabi.
